Our Governing Body Profiles

Jem Davies - Chair of Governors

I have been a Governor since 2016 in a variety of roles and I recently took up the role of Chair of Governors.  My son attends Winnington Park Primary School and every day on the school run I see happy children who are proud of their school, their friends and their achievements. My role as Governor is to provide support and challenge to the school to ensure that all children can achieve their potential and have a broad and rich school experience. My background is the Armed Forces and Police. I now work for a local authority commissioned service. As a family we love to enjoy the countryside on our doorstep.

Hannah Cundale - Vice Chair

I am an experienced Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist and have worked in the local area for 18 years. I became a parent governor for Winnington Park Primary and Nursery School in November 2020, when my eldest daughter was in Year 1. My youngest daughter now also attends the nursery, and they are both thriving in this school.  I am currently link governor for Design Technology, Computing and Modern Foreign Languages and am part of the Curriculum and Full Governing Body. As part of succession planning, I am also sharing the role of Early Years link governor.

I feel my experience and skills enable me to be able to particularly support and challenge in the areas of; parental involvement, communication strategy, Early Years development, supporting of pupils with SEND and Equality and Diversity. Being a parent governor is a particular honour and I strive to fulfil the role with enthusiasm and passion and with a commitment to ensuring a high-quality education for all our children.

Vickie Allen

I have had the honour to work at Winnington Park Primary School and Nursery as a teacher since 2016 and it is evident that the school mirrors my own personal philosophy of education. I have gained valuable teaching and leadership experience in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. I am an enthusiastic and caring professional with a strong commitment to teaching, learning and leadership. I am the Deputy Headteacher, with a vast experience of leading areas across the curriculum, such as: Mathematics, English and Behaviour as well as being the SENDCo for 5 years. I feel that I am an approachable member of staff and believe I have a strong rapport with everyone in our school community.

Leah Davenport

Hello everyone. I am new to the Governing body this year. I have been a teacher for 8 years and teach Religious Studies at a local high school.

In addition to my teaching role, I have served as a Head of Year for the past five years, ensuring the well-being and academic progress of students. This experience has reinforced my deep commitment to the pastoral provision and the holistic development of young minds.

I have recently moved to Winnington with my husband and am genuinely excited to become a part of this wonderful community and contribute towards the growth and development of our school. With my background in education, my leadership skills, and my passion for fostering a nurturing environment, I am eager to collaborate with the staff, students, and parents to drive positive change and provide the best educational experience possible.

My name is Edd Naylor and I am one of the newly appointed governors at Winnington Park Primary & Nursery School. As a resident of Winnington, I am passionate to work alongside school leaders and governors to ensure all children in my local community experience excellence every day.

As an experienced school leader and director for a multi-academy trust, I am excited to work alongside like-minded individuals to ensure all children of WPPS feel trusted, safe and secure. I am thrilled to be part of Winnington Primary School's journey as we continue to strive for excellence.

Amanda Nolan

I am a new parent governor but have been heavily involved in the school community for over eight years when my eldest started nursery. I was chair of the PTA for three years and had the pleasure of working closely with Mr Cole, the teaching and support staff and parents to plan many events to raise funds to enhance the children’s education.

I have a background in education, and I am currently the Development Manager for Winnington Urban Village so I am hoping that my community and professional knowledge will allow me to support the school in many positive ways. I am looking forward to working with the governing body to ensure that the children are receiving the best possible primary school experience at Winnington Park. We are very happy to be living in Winnington and love to embrace all that the area has to offer.
