Personal Development and Wellbeing
Personal Development and Wellbeing Curriculum at Winnington Park Primary School
Our personal development and wellbeing curriculum is designed to provide a structured, progressive programme that supports pupils in developing the knowledge, skills, and attributes needed to succeed both in school and in later life. Through a carefully sequenced approach, pupils learn about emotional wellbeing, relationships, physical health, safety, and their role within a diverse society. The curriculum is underpinned by inclusive values and ensures that all pupils, regardless of background or need, are prepared for life in modern Britain.
The curriculum is delivered through dedicated lessons, cross-curricular opportunities, and wider school experiences, ensuring that learning is meaningful and embedded. It promotes active participation, reflection, and discussion, enabling pupils to develop confidence, resilience, and respect for others. By the end of primary school, pupils are equipped with the skills to make informed decisions, manage challenges, and contribute positively to their communities. At Winnington Park, we teach personal development and wellbeing through our PSHE and well-being lessons, as well as throughout the curriculum. Attached is our Winnington Park Pledge and our PSHE, SMSC, Wellbeing and British Values Long Term Plan.
